Rin was a healer before she was a fighter. Her strength on Team Minato was not in winning battles but in making sure her teammates survived them — battlefield medical ninjutsu skilled enough that she could pass basic first aid on to Kakashi and Obito. Her chakra ran to Water and the Yin release beneath her medical art, and her surest hands were the ones that placed Obito's eye into Kakashi.
