   In the Forest of Death, with both teammates unconscious, Sakura cuts off her own long hair and holds the line against a squad of Sound ninja alone. It is the first time she fights for the team instead of watching it fight.

   Sakura cannot stop Sasuke from leaving Konoha, and watching Naruto shoulder the promise to bring him back decides her. She asks Tsunade, the Fifth Hokage, to take her on as a student.

   Under Tsunade, Sakura becomes a medical-nin with the finest chakra control of her generation. She channels that same control into raw strength — a single focused punch that breaks the ground apart.

   Sakura leads the Allied medical corps and unlocks the Byakugō Seal, an ancient technique only Tsunade had mastered before her. On the final battlefield she stands beside Naruto and Sasuke as their equal.

Sakura's gift is precision. She had the finest chakra control on Team 7 from the start, and under Tsunade she turned that control into two things at once — medical ninjutsu good enough to lead a war's medical corps, and physical strength that cracks open the ground. The same control makes her highly resistant to genjutsu, since illusions are broken with exactly the skill she spent years sharpening.

  Sakura Haruno is a kunoichi of Konohagakure and the third member of Team 7, with Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha. Trained by the Sannin Tsunade, she becomes an elite medical ninja and, during the Fourth Shinobi World War, the leader of the Allied medical corps.
