DMCA / Takedown Policy

Last updated: 2026-04-20

Narutodle is an unofficial, fan-made guessing game. We do our best to respect the intellectual property of Masashi Kishimoto, Shueisha, TV Tokyo, Studio Pierrot, Viz Media, and every other rights holder involved in the Naruto franchise. If something on narutodle.app needs to come down, this page is how you get it done.

Our source material

Character portraits and biographical data are drawn from Narutopedia (hosted on Fandom) under the CC-BY-SA 3.0 licence. Every character detail page links back to the Narutopedia source and preserves the share-alike notice. The game's text and code are original.

We do not host Naruto scans, episode clips, audio, or any other derivative work that falls outside CC-BY-SA 3.0's scope.

To report infringement

Send a notice to contact@narutodle.app. The subject line should begin with DMCA Takedown Notice so it routes correctly.

Under 17 USC § 512(c)(3), a valid takedown notice must include:

  1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or someone authorised to act on their behalf.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed (e.g. a specific illustration, character design, or piece of text).
  3. Identification of the material on narutodle.app that you want removed, with the exact URL(s) so we can find it quickly.
  4. Your contact information: name, mailing address, phone number, and email address.
  5. A good-faith statement that you believe the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.

We aim to respond within three business days. If we remove content, we'll notify the person who posted it (if applicable) and keep a record for our safe-harbour file.

Counter-notices

If you believe content was removed by mistake or misidentification, you can submit a counter-notice to the same address. A valid counter-notice must include:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the removed material and the URL where it appeared before removal.
  3. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your name, address, phone number, and consent to the jurisdiction of a federal district court for the district where you reside (or, if outside the US, the district where narutodle.app is hosted) and acceptance of service from the original complainant.

We'll forward a valid counter-notice to the original complainant and restore the material unless they file a court action within ten business days.

Repeat-infringer policy

Narutodle does not host user-generated content, so this section is minimal. In the unlikely event that user contributions become part of the site, we'll terminate access for anyone identified as a repeat infringer.

Good-faith disclaimer

Filing a false takedown under 17 USC § 512(f) carries penalties, including costs and attorney's fees. Please confirm the content actually infringes your rights — and that fair use, CC-BY-SA licensing, or editorial commentary don't apply — before submitting.

Non-DMCA contact

For anything else — corrections to character data, bug reports, feature requests, partnership enquiries — use the general address on our about page or email contact@narutodle.app. We aim to respond within a few days.
