Also known as Roshi, Four-Tails Jinchūriki
Rōshi is a shinobi of Iwagakure and the jinchūriki of the Four-Tails, Son Gokū. Made a host as a child, he left his village to learn to understand the beast inside him rather than simply contain it — and became a lava-armoured warrior who came nearer to harmony with his tailed beast than most ever did.
Rōshi was a shinobi of Iwagakure, the Hidden Stone — made the jinchūriki of the Four-Tails, Son Gokū, while still a young child.
He carried the beast for a very long time: he had been Son Gokū's host for over forty years by the time of the Fourth Shinobi World War.
At some point, Rōshi left Iwagakure. He did not go to abandon his village so much as to do something most hosts never tried — to understand the beast within him, instead of only holding it down.
Rōshi is made the jinchūriki of Son Gokū as a young child — and carries the Four-Tails for decades, longer than almost any host of his generation.
Rōshi leaves his home village. It is not desertion — it is a search, a deliberate step onto a lonely road to do what the village's walls could not help him do.
Rōshi works to understand Son Gokū rather than imprison it — and, of all the jinchūriki of his era, comes nearer to a real harmony with his tailed beast than most.
At his peak, Rōshi fights wrapped in a coat of lava — a warrior so hot to the touch that closing with him is a wound in itself.
The Akatsuki come for the Four-Tails. Kisame Hoshigaki confronts Rōshi alone, exploits his weakness to Water Release, and — after a hard fight — takes him.
Brought back by Edo Tensei in the Fourth Shinobi World War, Rōshi fights the Allied Shinobi Forces alongside the other dead jinchūriki, his power turned against the living.
Rōshi fought the way his tailed beast did — with lava. Fusing Fire and Earth into Lava Release, he could spit molten rock in spreading volleys, and coat himself in a lava armour that burned anything it met and turned each of his blows searing. It made him dangerous even to approach. His one true gap was water — the weakness Kisame Hoshigaki found and used.

A coat of lava across Rōshi's body — it burns whatever touches him, and adds searing force to every taijutsu blow.
Rōshi's access to the chakra and the forms of Son Gokū, the Four-Tails sealed within him.
Rōshi's hand-to-hand fighting — his lava armour able to burn an opponent without his even landing the blow.
The one gap in Rōshi's lava-built style — the opening Kisame Hoshigaki found, and used to capture him.
Son Gokū
The Four-Tails sealed within him — the proud beast Rōshi tried to understand rather than chain.

Rōshi's Jinchūriki attribute is a strong signal — a short list of characters on the board carry it. His Lava Release is a rare Kekkei Genkai hit, his Iwagakure village is uncommon, and his Jōnin rank trims the answer a little. His Nature Types column pairs Fire with Earth. He has no clan. He debuts in the Kazekage Rescue era, mid-series, so the Debut Arc arrow can point either way.

Most hosts spend their lives holding the beast down. I left the village to do the opposite — to listen to it.
Do not close with me. The lava is not a technique I throw — it is the air around my skin. It burns before you reach me.
Water. Of course it was water. A man built of lava always knew that would be the gap.
