Samehada
Kisame's living, sentient sword. Rather than cut, its scales shave away an opponent's chakra and absorb it — and feed that chakra back to Kisame.

Also known as Kisame, Monster of the Hidden Mist, Tailless Tailed Beast
Kisame Hoshigaki is a missing-nin of Kirigakure, a member of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist, and Itachi Uchiha's partner in the Akatsuki. Feared as the Monster of the Hidden Mist, he carried the living, chakra-eating sword Samehada and held chakra reserves so vast he was called a tailed beast without a tail.
Kisame was a shinobi of Kirigakure, the Hidden Mist — a village known in his era as the Bloody Mist for the brutality woven into how it raised and tested its ninja.
He rose into the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist, the village's elite blade corps, each member carrying one of seven unique weapons.
When Kisame discovered that his own superior was selling the village's secrets, he killed the man, took the sword Samehada for himself, and left Kirigakure — branded an S-rank missing-nin.
Kisame comes up in Kirigakure during its harshest years, and earns a place among the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist — the village's elite, each carrying one of seven famous blades.
When Kisame learns his superior is selling Kiri's secrets, he kills the man, claims the sword Samehada, and walks out of the village an S-rank missing-nin with no way back.
Kisame joins the Akatsuki and is paired with Itachi Uchiha. Together they hunt the tailed beasts, the two of them a fixed point through the early movements of the plot.
Years pass at Itachi's side. The two are killers by trade and say little, but a quiet, genuine trust grows between them — a partnership neither man bothers to explain.
Sent after the Eight-Tails, Kisame fights Killer B, fuses with Samehada to push his power higher — and is beaten. He escapes only by leaving a body behind to fake his own death.
Kisame infiltrates the Allied Shinobi Forces' headquarters hidden inside Samehada. Discovered, and refusing to let his knowledge be taken from him, he summons his own sharks and lets them devour him.
Kisame fought like the ocean itself — he could flood an entire battlefield and turn the water against everyone standing in it. His chakra reserves were monstrous even before Samehada, the living sword that shaved chakra from his enemies and fed it back to him. Together, man and sword could outlast almost anyone, which is how he came to be called a tailed beast that simply had no tail.
Kisame's living, sentient sword. Rather than cut, its scales shave away an opponent's chakra and absorb it — and feed that chakra back to Kisame.
Kisame could flood a whole battlefield and fight from inside an ocean of his own making, where he moved far faster than his enemies.
A torrent of water vast enough to bury a battlefield under a moving dome — an ocean that travelled with Kisame at its centre.
Water shaped into living sharks that hunt an opponent down, biting and tearing until nothing is left to fight.
Kisame's chakra reserves were so vast that, fused with Samehada and the chakra it had absorbed, his power rivalled a jinchūriki's.

Konoha Crush & Tsunade Search
Kisame's Kirigakure village is uncommon and narrows the board hard — a green Village column points straight at the Hidden Mist. His Hoshigaki clan is rare, and his Rogue rank trims further. His Attributes column stacks three signals — Akatsuki member, Seven Swordsmen, and Edo Tensei — and his Nature Types column holds only Water. He debuts in the Search for Tsunade arc, fairly early, so the Debut Arc arrow can point either way.

Itachi and I have an understanding. We do not need to speak it. That is rarer than it sounds.
