Dust Release
A rare Kekkei Tōta combining three chakra natures into a field that disintegrates anything caught inside it.
オオノキ · 大野木
Also known as Onoki, Third Tsuchikage, Fence-Sitter Ōnoki
Ōnoki is the Third Tsuchikage of Iwagakure, the oldest of the Five Kage and one of the few shinobi alive who can fly. A master of the rare Dust Release, he spent decades known as a fence-sitter — until, at the end of his life, he chose a side and led the Five Kage into battle against Madara himself.
Ōnoki was a shinobi of Iwagakure, the Hidden Stone, born generations before the events of the series — by Part II he was already in his late seventies.
As a young man he trained under the Second Tsuchikage, Mū, who passed down to him the secrets of Dust Release, the rare technique that would define Ōnoki's whole career.
At thirteen, on a mission alongside Mū, Ōnoki met Madara Uchiha. A proposed alliance was refused, and both Mū and the young Ōnoki were left badly hurt — an early lesson Ōnoki never forgot.

At thirteen, on a mission with Mū, Ōnoki meets Madara Uchiha. The alliance Iwagakure proposes is refused, and both Ōnoki and his teacher are left severely hurt — a memory that shapes his caution for life.
Ōnoki holds the Tsuchikage's hat for decades, and shifts his stance so often the world names him "of Both Scales" — a leader who hedges, weighs, and rarely commits to one side.
Old now, Ōnoki comes to the Five Kage Summit on the eve of war. There, the lifelong hedger argues for and helps form the Allied Shinobi Forces — finally, plainly, picking a side.
At seventy-nine years old, Ōnoki stands with the Five Kage in open battle against Madara — the same enemy who hurt him as a boy, faced down at last by the old man he became.
When the war ends, Ōnoki sets the hat down — passing the title of Tsuchikage to his granddaughter, Kurotsuchi, and trusting Iwagakure to the generation after his.
Ōnoki was a small, stooped old man with a bad back — and one of the most dangerous shinobi the series ever put on a battlefield. His Dust Release was a Kekkei Tōta, a bloodline limit that fuses three chakra natures and disintegrates whatever it touches. He could fly, lighten an ally or crush a foe by manipulating weight, and turn a target to stone with a touch. Few opponents had an answer to all of it at once.

Ōnoki can levitate and fly freely — one of the very few shinobi across the Five Great Nations able to do so.
Ōnoki can add or strip weight from objects and people — lightening allies for speed, or crushing enemies under their own mass.
Decades of command over the Hidden Stone's signature element, the foundation beneath his rarer techniques.

Five Kage Summit
Ōnoki's Dust Release is the giveaway — a Kekkei Genkai column hit that almost no other character on the board carries. His Iwagakure village is uncommon and narrows the answer, and his Kage rank narrows it again. His Nature Types column runs to four natures, a wide reading. He has no clan and an empty Attributes column. He debuts in the Five Kage Summit arc, late in the series, so the Debut Arc arrow points up toward him.
