Explosive Clay
Clay chewed by the mouths in Deidara's palms, shaped into birds, insects, and figures, then detonated on command.

Also known as Art is an Explosion, Mad Bomber
Deidara is a missing-nin of Iwagakure and a member of the Akatsuki, an explosives expert who shaped clay into living bombs. A prodigy artist who believed true art was a single fleeting moment of destruction, he carried that creed to the end — and made his own death the final piece.
Deidara was a ninja of Iwagakure, the Hidden Stone, with a rare gift for sculpture and an even rarer obsession with what art was supposed to be.
He trained under the Third Tsuchikage, Ōnoki, and served in Iwagakure's Explosion Corps, where his clay figures were praised across the village.
Wanting to push his art further, Deidara stole a forbidden jutsu that let him infuse chakra directly into clay. He left Iwagakure and sold his talent as a terrorist bomber for hire.
Deidara grows up in Iwagakure, a gifted sculptor with the Explosion Release in his bloodline. His clay figures win praise, but praise is never quite the point for him — the art is.
To make his art what he believes it should be, Deidara steals a forbidden technique that fuses chakra into clay. He leaves Iwagakure and sells his explosions as a terrorist for hire.
Itachi Uchiha defeats Deidara and humiliates him with the Sharingan. Deidara joins the Akatsuki only after losing a bet on that fight — and hates the Uchiha eye for the rest of his life.
Paired with Sasori, Deidara argues with him without end — fleeting art against eternal art. The two capture the One-Tail's jinchūriki for the Akatsuki, their partnership all friction and pride.
After Sasori's death, Deidara is paired with the clowning newcomer Tobi — an irritation he never manages to shake, and never guesses is the masked man directing the Akatsuki itself.
Cornered by Sasuke Uchiha and unwilling to simply lose, Deidara uses his ultimate technique — turning his own body into a vast explosion, determined to make his death the one piece of art no one could deny.
Deidara fought the way he made art — with clay and a fuse. The mouths set into his palms chewed clay into shapes, and the Explosion Release in his blood turned those shapes into bombs. He built a tiered arsenal, from small clay creatures to a single sculpture that could level a village, and kept one technique back that turned his own body into the blast.

The Kekkei Genkai that lets Deidara mix his chakra into clay and turn ordinary clay into an explosive.
A tiered arsenal — from small clay creatures up to a single bomb, C3, large enough to level an entire village.
A microscopic cloud of clay that, once breathed in, blows an opponent apart from the cells outward.
Deidara's final technique — turning his own body into a vast explosion, the death he meant to make his masterpiece.
Sasori
Deidara's first Akatsuki partner, and his artistic opposite — they argued endlessly over whether art is fleeting or eternal.
Ōnoki
The Third Tsuchikage of Iwagakure, Deidara's teacher in the village before he stole a forbidden jutsu and turned.
Itachi Uchiha
The Uchiha who beat and humiliated Deidara with the Sharingan, and pressed him into the Akatsuki. Deidara hated that eye ever after.
Sasuke Uchiha
Itachi's younger brother, and the opponent Deidara chose to die against — the target of his final, self-destroying explosion.
Gaara
The One-Tail's jinchūriki, captured by Deidara and Sasori in the mission that brought Deidara into the story.
Obito Uchiha
"Tobi" — the clowning partner forced on Deidara after Sasori's death, and secretly the masked man running the Akatsuki.

Deidara's Explosion Release is the giveaway — a Kekkei Genkai column hit that almost no other character on the board shares. His Iwagakure village is uncommon and narrows things further, and his Rogue rank with the Akatsuki member attribute confirms him. His Nature Types column pairs Earth with Lightning, an unusual reading. He debuts in the Kazekage Rescue arc, mid-series, so the Debut Arc arrow can point either way.

Art is an explosion. A single fleeting moment — there, and then gone. That is the only beauty I believe in.
Sasori, my man — your puppets last forever, and that is exactly what makes them not art.
Watch closely. My final work — and you will carry the memory of it for the rest of your short life.
