Registry summary
Izuna Uchiha was Madara's younger brother and very nearly his equal. The two awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan side by side in the age of warring clans, fighting the Senju as the Uchiha's strongest pair. When Izuna fell, his eyes passed to Madara and became the first Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan — the price, and the foundation, of a legend.

Izuna was the younger son of Tajima Uchiha and the brother of Madara, born into the age before the hidden villages, when the Uchiha and the Senju bled each other white across an endless clan war.
He was, by any measure but one, the strongest Uchiha of his generation — the exception being his own brother. Madara and Izuna fought as a pair at the front of the clan, two prodigies who awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan together and turned it on the Senju.
His story is inseparable from his eyes. When Izuna fell in the war, those eyes passed to Madara, and the transplant produced the first Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan — a power that never goes blind. What that gift cost, and what Madara did with it, is the shadow Izuna's short life casts over everything that follows.

Madara's younger brother
Izuna is born the younger son of the Uchiha's leading family, in the age of warring clans. From the start he stands a step behind only one person in the whole clan — his brother Madara.
