Crystal Release
Her kekkei genkai — creating and shaping crystal at will, and crystallising whatever it touches.
紅蓮 · 红莲
Also known as Crystal Release User, Orochimaru's Subordinate
Guren is the only wielder of Crystal Release, a Sound kunoichi loyal to Orochimaru. Cold and proud, she was skilled enough with her crystal to fight the Three-Tails and hold her own. Made the bodyguard of the boy Yūkimaru, she found in him something her service to Orochimaru never gave her — and it changed which side she was willing to die for.
Guren served Orochimaru as one of his Sound shinobi, introduced as a cold and capable villain who craved his approval above all else. She measured her worth by how useful she was to him, and she was very useful indeed.
The reason was her kekkei genkai: Crystal Release, a power no other ninja shares. She could create and shape crystal at will, crystallise what she struck, and raise walls and blades from nothing. Her command of it was strong enough that Orochimaru trusted her to fight the Three-Tails — and she could hold the beast off, even beat it for a time.
Her story turns on a single assignment. Orochimaru set Guren to guard Yūkimaru, the boy whose power could control the Three-Tails, and told Kabuto in advance that she would bond with the child and one day turn. He was right — for reasons buried in Guren's own past.
Guren serves Orochimaru as a loyal, cold-edged subordinate, desperate to prove her worth to him. Cruelty comes easily to her, and she rarely questions the orders she is given.
Her Crystal Release lets her shape crystal at will — walls, blades, and a touch that turns a target solid. She is skilled enough with it to fight the Three-Tails and even defeat the beast for a time.
Orochimaru assigns Guren to protect Yūkimaru, whose strange power can control the Three-Tails. To Kabuto, Orochimaru predicts she will grow attached to the boy and eventually betray them.
Against her own intentions, Guren grows attached to Yūkimaru. The cold subordinate begins to act less like a guard and more like someone with a person of her own to protect.
Guren learns of her own hand in the death of Yūkimaru's mother. The knowledge turns her attachment into something heavier — guilt, and a need to make right what she once helped break.
In the end Guren accepts Naruto's view: Yūkimaru belongs with neither Orochimaru nor her. She turns on the plan she served, and makes sure Naruto gets out alive to give the boy that future.
Guren is the sole master of Crystal Release, a kekkei genkai no one else on the board shares. She shapes crystal into walls, blades, and projectiles in an instant, and a direct hit can turn a target to solid crystal. Backed by Earth and Water nature, her power is strong enough to stand against a tailed beast.

Hidan & Kakuzu
Guren is the easiest kind of grid to crack once one column lands: her Kekkei Genkai is Crystal Release, which no other character on the board shares, so a green there names her outright. Everything else supports it — she reads Oto village and Rogue rank, with no clan, and her Nature Types column pairs Earth and Water, the two that feed her crystal. Her Attributes column is empty, and she debuts in the Hidan & Kakuzu stretch of the timeline.
