Blade of Wind
An invisible vacuum cut that strikes before it can be seen, his signature killing technique.
バキ · 巴基
Also known as Sand Siblings Sensei
Baki is a jōnin of the Hidden Sand and the sensei who led Gaara, Temari, and Kankurō. A disciplined soldier first and last, he cut down a Konoha proctor to protect the invasion plot, then helped turn the Sand toward Konoha once Orochimaru betrayed his village. His Blade of Wind kills without ever being seen.
Baki is a senior jōnin of the Hidden Sand, the kind of soldier a village leans on when a job has to be done quietly and well. Stern and economical, he speaks little and wastes nothing, least of all in a fight.
He was entrusted with the most sensitive squad in the village: the team of the Fourth Kazekage's children, Gaara, Temari, and Kankurō. Leading the unstable young Gaara was a duty few would have wanted, and Baki carried it without flinching.
His loyalty runs to the Sand itself rather than to any plan. He served the invasion of Konoha when the village ordered it, and turned against the Sound the moment Orochimaru's betrayal made that the Sand's interest — a soldier whose one fixed point is his home.
Baki is one of the Hidden Sand's trusted jōnin, the steady hand the village turns to for hard work. He carries himself like the career soldier he is — quiet, exacting, and hard to rattle.
Baki is given charge of Gaara, Temari, and Kankurō, the Fourth Kazekage's children. Guiding the volatile young Gaara through the Chūnin Exams is a duty that would have broken a lesser teacher.
When the Sand allies with the Sound to attack Konoha, Baki is in the thick of the planning. The operation is his village's order, and he serves it without question.
When the Konoha proctor Hayate Gekkō overhears the invasion plan, Baki kills him with the Blade of Wind to keep the plot secret. It is a soldier's act, cold and without hesitation.
Orochimaru murders the Fourth Kazekage and turns on the Sand from within. With the betrayal exposed, Baki helps steer the village away from the Sound and toward an alliance with Konoha.
In the years that follow, Baki remains a senior figure of the Hidden Sand, the kind of veteran a recovering village relies on. His loyalty to the Sand outlasts every shift around it.
Baki is a wind-and-blade jōnin and a capable squad leader. His signature is the Blade of Wind, an unseen vacuum cut that lands before an enemy knows it is coming, backed by Wind and Lightning nature and a soldier's swordsmanship. What makes him dangerous is less flash than precision.

Chūnin Exams
Baki has no clan and no Kekkei Genkai, so two columns turn grey, but the others narrow him quickly. He reads as a Suna jōnin, his Nature Types column pairs Wind and Lightning, and his Jutsu Types column includes Kenjutsu for his sword. He debuts in the Chūnin Exams arc and his Vital Status hint would read alive, separating him from many of the war's reincarnated soldiers.

A soldier doesn't choose his orders. He chooses to carry them out cleanly. That is all.
You heard too much, proctor. I'm sorry — that's the one mistake I can't let you walk away from.
Orochimaru wore our flag and gutted our Kazekage from inside it. The Sand answers that, not him.
