Black Secret Technique
Kankurō's named puppet-fighting style — his own answer to the Red Secret Technique of Sasori and the White of Chiyo.

Also known as Kankuro, Puppet Master of Sand, Sand Siblings
Kankurō is a shinobi of Sunagakure and the second eldest of the Three Sand Siblings, a puppet master who fights with the Black Secret Technique. Fiercely loyal to his younger brother Gaara, he turned the inherited puppets of a feared Akatsuki killer into the tools of Gaara's most devoted protector.
Kankurō was born in Sunagakure, a son of the Fourth Kazekage and the middle child of the three Sand Siblings.
Like his sister Temari, he grew up beside an unstable Gaara — a brother and a danger at once — and learned early to keep a careful distance from him.
Kankurō took up puppetry, the signature craft of the Hidden Sand. In time he came into possession of a set of puppets first built by Sasori, the village's most feared puppet master.
Kankurō grows up the middle of three, in a household with a brother nobody can predict. Like Temari, he keeps his distance from Gaara — a caution learned early and held a long time.
Kankurō enters the Konoha Chūnin Exams as part of the Sunagakure team, fighting with hidden puppets and the casual swagger of a shinobi who knows his craft.
As Gaara changes, Kankurō slowly comes to trust him — and then to back him. He starts to believe in his brother's impossible dream of one day becoming the Kazekage of Suna.
When the Akatsuki take Gaara, Kankurō fights Sasori to free him. He loses — and Sasori's poison leaves him close to death, saved only because Sakura Haruno prepares an antidote in time.
Kankurō recovers and sharpens his craft. After Sasori's death he takes the puppet master's own body and rebuilds it — Sasori himself becomes Kankurō's most powerful puppet.
Kankurō takes the role of Gaara's personal bodyguard and, in the Fourth Shinobi World War, leads Sunagakure's puppet brigade — the wary brother now the one who stands in front.
Kankurō fights the way Sunagakure fights — at arm's length, through wood and wire and hidden poison. His puppets were built by a master, and Kankurō grew into one himself, naming his own style the Black Secret Technique to stand beside the Red and White of the puppeteers before him. Every puppet he controls is a weapon, a shield, and a poison dispenser at once.
Kankurō's named puppet-fighting style — his own answer to the Red Secret Technique of Sasori and the White of Chiyo.
Three puppets first built by Sasori, inherited by Kankurō — a striker, a trap, and a shield, used in combination.
Sasori's own body, taken after his death and rebuilt by Kankurō into his single most powerful puppet.
Hidden blades and dispensers built into every puppet, turning each one into a delivery system for Suna's poisons.
Kankurō's growing skill — moving more puppets at once as the series goes on, closing the gap on the old masters.

Kankurō's Kugutsu jutsu type and Puppeteer attribute are the standout signals — a rare pairing shared with only a handful of other characters on the board. His Sunagakure village narrows the answer further, and his Jōnin rank trims a little more. His Nature Types column pairs Earth with Fire. He has no clan and no Kekkei Genkai. He debuts in the Chūnin Exams, an early arc, so the Debut Arc arrow points down toward him.

A puppeteer never stands where the enemy is looking. Find me if you can — my puppets are already behind you.
I used to stay as far from Gaara as I could. Now I will not let anything stand between him and a way home.
Sasori was the greatest of us. Fitting, then, that he ended up a puppet in my hands.
