Gold Dust
Rasa's signature — fine gold dust he shaped, hurled, and hardened with absolute control across a battlefield.
ラサ · 罗砂
Also known as Fourth Kazekage, Gaara's Father
Rasa is the Fourth Kazekage of Sunagakure and the father of Temari, Kankurō, and Gaara. A Gold Dust wielder who led a village starved of funds and respect, he made cold choices to keep it alive — sealing a tailed beast into his own newborn son — and saw, only after his death, how wrong he had been about that son.
Rasa was a shinobi of Sunagakure who rose to become the Fourth Kazekage — the leader of the Hidden Sand.
He was feared for his Gold Dust: fine gold particles he controlled with absolute precision, through the Magnet Release Kekkei Genkai he carried.
He built a family — his wife, Karura, and their three children, Temari, Kankurō, and Gaara. It was a family his duty to the village would, in the end, cost him.
Rasa rises to become the Fourth Kazekage of Sunagakure — a leader feared across the shinobi world for his absolute, glittering control of Gold Dust.
The Land of Wind's daimyō cuts Sunagakure's budget, hiring cheaper work from Konohagakure instead. Rasa watches his village's survival come into doubt, and resolves to do whatever it takes.
To give Suna a weapon to match the great villages, Rasa orders Chiyo to seal the One-Tail into his unborn son, Gaara. The sealing brings Gaara early — and kills Rasa's wife, Karura.
Gaara grows unstable, and Rasa turns away from him entirely — treating his own son as a failed experiment, and even ordering attempts on the boy's life.
Before the Chūnin Exam finals, Orochimaru murders Rasa, runs his guards through, and takes the Kazekage's face — impersonating Rasa to set his attack on Konoha in motion.
Reanimated in the Fourth Shinobi World War, Rasa meets the son he had written off — and finds a level-headed, compassionate young man, the Fifth Kazekage. The regret is all his.
Rasa fought with gold. His Magnet Release let him magnetise and command fine gold dust with total precision — shaping it into crushing waves, hardened weapons, and inescapable binds. He could weight the dust further by mixing other minerals into it, making it heavier and harder still. As Kazekage, that signature power sat behind the harder work of holding a struggling village together.

Rasa's Magnet Release is a rare Kekkei Genkai signal that narrows the board hard, and his Kage rank narrows it again. His Sunagakure village trims the answer further, his Nature Types column pairs Wind with Earth, and his Attributes column holds Edo Tensei. He has no clan. He debuts in the Chūnin Exams arc, an early arc, so the Debut Arc arrow points down toward him.

Suna was being starved out of existence. I would not let the village die. I told myself any price was worth that.
I made my own son a weapon, and then I could not look at what I had made. The failure was never his.
Gaara is the Kazekage now. Level-headed. Loved. I was wrong about him in every way a father can be wrong.
