   Before it was White Zetsu, it was a person — an ordinary human, swept up long ago in the Infinite Tsukuyomi cast over the world by Kaguya Ōtsutsuki.

   The captured bodies were drawn into the God Tree and held there for centuries. Over that long dark, they mutated — humanity drained away, the pale, plant-like White Zetsu form left in its place.

   Madara Uchiha recovered the White Zetsu and set them to work. They emerged from the ground as scouts — plant-bodied, near-silent, able to sink back into the earth and gather what others could not.

   Fused with Black Zetsu, White Zetsu becomes the Akatsuki member known simply as Zetsu — the organisation's spy and scout, watching battlefields and reporting back to its masked leader.

   For the Fourth Shinobi World War, Madara grows the White Zetsu by the thousand from Hashirama's cells — a faceless army, every soldier of it the same lost, remade thing.

   The White Zetsu Army fights and falls as Madara's nameless force. Its cells outlast it — worked into reanimations and modified bodies, the victim still being used long after.

White Zetsu was never built to win a duel. It was built to go unseen, to copy, and to be many — a tool for a war, not a warrior in one. Its plant body could merge with the ground, its form could mimic almost anyone, and grown from Hashirama Senju's cells, it carried the First Hokage's Wood Release. Its real strength was the simplest one: there were thousands of it.
