Konan is a kunoichi of Amegakure and a founding member of the Akatsuki, known as the Angel of the Hidden Rain. A war orphan who dreamed of peace alongside her friends Yahiko and Nagato, she fought with paper — and outlived both of them, carrying their dream to the end.
Konan was a child of Amegakure, a small country caught between the larger shinobi nations and worn down by their wars. The Second Shinobi World War left her orphaned, fending for herself in a ruined village.
She found Yahiko, another orphan surviving on his own, and the two began to scrape by together. Later they found Nagato — sick, starved, and grieving a dead dog — and took him in. The three orphans became a family.
When the travelling Sannin Jiraiya passed through Amegakure, the three asked him to teach them rather than leave them to starve. Jiraiya stayed and trained them for years, and of the three, he thought Konan the kindest.
Konan is orphaned young by the Second Shinobi World War, surviving alone in a Amegakure that the larger nations have fought their wars across. She is a child with nothing, in a country with little more.
She joins with Yahiko, then helps take in a starving Nagato. The three become a family, and when Jiraiya passes through, they ask him to teach them. He stays for years, and calls Konan the kindest of the three.
Grown, the three found the Akatsuki — not as a criminal ring but as a movement to end the wars that had orphaned them. Yahiko leads it; Konan and Nagato stand at his side; the dream is a world without this kind of grief.
Hanzō and Danzō trap the three. Cornered, Yahiko throws himself onto Nagato's blade so Nagato will be spared. Konan, hardened by the loss, follows Nagato as he rebuilds the Akatsuki — his loyal partner, and the village's God's Angel.
Nagato dies after Naruto reaches him and changes his mind about peace. Konan leaves the Akatsuki and takes up the leadership of Amegakure, the last of the three friends, keeping faith in the boy Nagato chose to believe in.
When the masked man comes for the bodies of Yahiko and Nagato, Konan fights him to protect their remains and the future they had believed in. She studies his technique, very nearly kills him — and dies in the attempt.
Konan is a master of paper ninjutsu, a style built almost entirely around a single idea: she can turn her body into countless sheets of chakra-infused paper and shape them at will. From those sheets she folds wings to fly, clones to fight in her place, blades and shields in an instant, and — when everything is on the line — a sea of explosive tags large enough to threaten the strongest shinobi alive.

Folded-paper wings that let Konan fly and float above a battlefield — the image that earned her the name the Angel of Amegakure.
Bodies of paper Konan forms to scout, misdirect, and fight in her place, indistinguishable from her at a glance.
Sharp-folded paper weapons and layered paper shields conjured in an instant, turning ordinary paper into both attack and defence.
Konan's ultimate jutsu — a sea of six hundred billion explosive tags, set to detonate in waves for ten full minutes.
Nagato
Her lifelong partner. After Yahiko's death, Konan followed Nagato through every step of the Akatsuki, loyal to him to the end.
Yahiko
The orphan who found her first and led their dream of peace. His death is the loss the rest of Konan's life turned on.
Jiraiya
The Sannin who stayed in Amegakure to train the three orphans for years, and thought Konan the kindest of them.
Obito Uchiha
The masked man who came for Yahiko and Nagato's remains. Konan studied his technique and nearly killed him — the fight that ended her life.
Hanzō
The leader of Amegakure who, with Danzō, set the trap that forced Yahiko's death.
Naruto Uzumaki
The shinobi Konan chose to place her remaining faith in, after Naruto reached Nagato and changed his mind about peace.

Konan's Amegakure village is the giveaway — a hidden village almost no other character on the board belongs to, so a green Village column narrows the answer hard. Her Rogue rank and Akatsuki member attribute confirm her. She has no clan and no Kekkei Genkai, so those columns stay grey. She debuts in Pain's Assault, a fairly late arc, so the Debut Arc arrow tends to point up toward her.

We three were orphans of the rain. We had nothing — so we decided to make something. A world that would not make more of us.
Yahiko is gone. Nagato is gone. I am the only one left to carry what the three of us believed.
I am no longer an angel. Today, I am a kunoichi — and I will not let you take what they died for.
