   The largest serpent

   Manda is the boss snake, the one summoned when a contract-holder calls for the head of the serpents. Vast, swift, and merciless, he is the most dangerous thing the snake contract can put on a battlefield.

   A servant who is no servant

   Bound by strength alone

   Manda answers Orochimaru, but only because he cannot kill him. There is no loyalty in it — just a snake biding its time, waiting for the day his master finally slips.

   A hundred sacrifices

   The blood price

   Every time he is summoned, Manda names his fee: a hundred human sacrifices. He says it like a fact of business, and he means it. Fail to pay, and the snake is happy to take his due from the summoner instead.

   Clash of the summons

   Against toad and slug

   When the three Sannin and their beasts collide during the search for Tsunade, Manda is set against Gamabunta and Katsuyu. He and the boss toad share an old, mutual grudge, and he is glad of the excuse to settle it.

   Used as a shield

   Bound by the Sharingan

   Cornered by Deidara's final blast, Sasuke summons Manda, binds him with a Sharingan genjutsu, and uses the great snake's body to shield his escape. Manda never agreed to it.

   The serpent's end

   A grudge carried to death

   The explosion that Sasuke walks away from is the one that kills Manda. The snake dies furious at being spent like a tool, cursing the Uchiha who used him with his last breath.

Manda is a predator, not a technician. He carries no library of jutsu — his weapons are the things a giant snake is born with. Size, underground speed, crushing coils, venom, and a molting trick that lets him shed his skin out of a killing blow all make him lethal long before any technique enters the picture.

  Manda is the boss snake of Ryūchi Cave, the largest of the serpents and Orochimaru's summon. Arrogant and bloodthirsty, he demands a hundred human sacrifices for his help and treats humans as little more than food.
• Who summons Manda?+

  Manda is Orochimaru's summon. Late in the series Sasuke Uchiha, holding the snake contract, also summons him once — binding him with the Sharingan and using him as a shield.

  Manda names a price of a hundred human sacrifices each time he is summoned. He serves Orochimaru only because he cannot beat him, and the blood price is his way of being paid for an alliance he never truly wanted.

  Manda was killed during Sasuke's battle with Deidara. Sasuke summoned him, bound him with a Sharingan genjutsu, and used his body as a shield against Deidara's self-destruction. The blast that Sasuke escaped is the one that killed the snake.

  Yes. The two boss summons share a mutual grudge. During the search for Tsunade, Orochimaru summoned Manda to face Gamabunta and Katsuyu when the three Sannin and their beasts clashed.
