Immense Size and Strength
Gamabunta is a toad on the scale of a small mountain, able to crush and overpower nearly anything he comes down on.

Also known as Chief Toad, Boss Toad
Gamabunta is the Chief Toad of Mount Myōboku, the boss of the toad summons and the lifelong partner of Jiraiya. Gruff, proud, and quick to call a human too small to matter, he fights with a giant tantō and a mouth full of oil — and gives his loyalty only after it is earned, as Naruto learned the hard way.
Gamabunta is the head of the toad summons of Mount Myōboku, answering only to the ancient Great Toad Sage. When a summoner with the right contract calls the boss of the toads, it is Gamabunta who answers — a creature the size of a hill, with a kiseru pipe clamped in his mouth and a short sword the length of a building at his side.
He has been the summon of three generations: Jiraiya signed the toad contract and fought beside him the longest, Minato Namikaze called on him in Konoha's darkest hour, and Naruto Uzumaki inherited the bond as the last of the three.
His temperament is closer to a yakuza boss than a beast. He drinks sake, takes pride in his name, and does not pretend to care for the humans who summon him. Respect from Gamabunta is not given with a contract — it has to be won.
Gamabunta sits at the head of the toad summons, the one who answers when a contract-holder calls for the boss. Mountainous, armed, and short-tempered, he is the standard every other toad is measured against.
Jiraiya is the summoner Gamabunta fought beside the longest. Their oil-and-fire combinations turned the boss toad into one of the most dangerous weapons either of them could bring to a battlefield.
On the night Naruto was born, Minato dropped Gamabunta straight onto the rampaging Nine-Tails to hold it down. The toad bought the seconds Minato needed to teleport the beast clear of the village.
When Naruto first manages to summon him at full size, Gamabunta refuses to lift a finger for him. He has never let a human ride his head, and he is not about to start for a loud genin who can barely hold the contract.
Naruto clings to his head as the two face Gaara's fully transformed Shukaku. Gamabunta's tantō takes the sand beast's arm, and a combination transformation into the Nine-Tails lets them pin it long enough to wake Gaara inside.
When his son Gamakichi tells him the boy saved his life, Gamabunta finally accepts Naruto as one of his own. He promises that once the kid is grown, the two of them will share a drink.
Gamabunta does not fight with a deep library of jutsu. His power is scale and will: a body the size of a hill, a short sword that can carve a tailed beast, and a mouth that spits oil and water his summoners turn into fire and pressure. What makes him deadly is less variety than weight — almost nothing he lands on stays standing.
Gamabunta is a toad on the scale of a small mountain, able to crush and overpower nearly anything he comes down on.
The building-length short sword he wields like a cleaver — the blade that sheared the arm off the transformed Shukaku.
High-pressure bullets of water spat from his mouth, heavy enough to blast apart whatever they hit.
A flood of flammable oil from his mouth that ignites with a summoner's fire, as in Jiraiya's Toad Oil Flame Bullet.
With Naruto riding him, he takes the shape of the Nine-Tails to grapple and pin the One-Tail in place.

His summoner and lifelong partner, the human Gamabunta fought beside the longest and respected the most.

Gamatatsu
His carefree, hungry younger son, forever a step behind his brother Gamakichi.

Konoha Crush & Tsunade Search
Gamabunta is a summon, not a ninja, and the grid says so loudly. His Village reads None, his Ninja Rank reads None, and he has no clan and no Kekkei Genkai, so four columns turn grey at once. His Attributes column is empty too — the detail that separates him from the nine tailed beasts, who all carry the Tailed Beast tag. His Nature Types column is a single entry, Water, and his Jutsu Types column shows only Ninjutsu. He debuts in the Konoha Crush & Tsunade Search arc, third on the timeline, so an early Debut Arc arrow points his way.
